Gal Hayut, Chairman of the Board Appointed Chairman of the Board in January 2007, Mr. Hayut joined Apax in 2000, following several management positions at Eli Lilly & Co. in Tel Aviv and Indianapolis, and prior to that at Orbotech (Optrotech). Mr. Hayut is a Board Member of several Israeli high-tech companies such as Power Paper, Wisair, Mobixell, Crescendo, Printar, Digital Fuel, and others. He became a Partner at Apax in 2002. Mr. Hayut graduated in Science and Computer Engineering from the Technion Institute of Technology in Haifa and holds an MBA from INSEAD.
Ami Amir, Partner, Partech International Mr. Amir opened Partech’s Israeli office in April of 2002. Prior to Partech, he founded RADVISION in 1992 and managed it as the CEO. Under his leadership, the company became the market leader in the voice and video over IP space. In April of 2000, he took the company public (NASD – RVSN), raising $85M and growing the company to 300 employees and revenues of $50M. One year after the IPO, Mr. Amir resigned from the company. Before founding RADVISION, he spent 5 years as CEO of New Jersey based RAD Data Inc., managing the US sales and distribution of the Israeli based RAD Group. His rich technical background includes R&D projects related to real time, embedded electronic warfare, and communications systems.
Avishai Silvershatz, Managing Partner Mr. Silvershatz has extensive entrepreneurial experience, having founded several software companies. He co-founded and served as CEO of Verisity (NASDAQ: VRST), a software company providing development tools for electronic chip designers. Mr. Silvershatz also co-founded and served as CEO of ScanVec (NASDAQ: SVECF.OB), a world leader in providing open architecture CAD/CAM software solutions for the sign making, machining and imaging industries. He holds a B.Sc. in Computer Science from Ben Gurion University (Cum Laude) and a M.Sc. in Computer Science from the Weizman Institute of Science (Magna Cum Laude).
Barak Maoz, Partner, Amadeus Capital Partners Limited Specializing in semiconductor, wireless, and optical technology industries, Mr. Maoz joined the firm in 2001 and has led several investments. Prior to joining Amadeus, he created and managed the Wireless business unit at ANADIGICS in the US before becoming Vice President and Managing Director of the company's operations in Europe and the Middle East. Mr. Maoz holds a B.Sc. from Tel Aviv University and an M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from Rutgers University, New Jersey, and several further management and business administration degrees.
Gadi Toren, Principal, Partech International Mr. Toren joined Partech International in 2006 and focuses on software and internet investments. He has been active in Private Equity in Europe and Israel since 1998. Before joining Partech, Mr. Toren spent 6 years with Apax Partners where he served as a Director of Native Networks (acq. by Alcatel). In addition, he was involved with Ceragon Networks (CRNT) and EZchip Technologies (merged with Lanoptics - LNOP). He completed his military service as a helicopter pilot and held several command and leadership positions in the Israeli Air Force. Mr. Toren received his undergraduate degree Magna Cum Laude in Economics and Management from Tel Aviv University, and MBA with distinction from INSEAD in Fontainebleau, France.
Erez Kahani, Chief Executive Officer Mr. Kahani was nominated CEO of PowerID Ltd. after serving as Executive Vice President of Power Paper's PowerID Division from early 2006. Prior to that, he was Chief Financial Officer of Power Paper for four and a half years during which he led two major fund raising rounds. Before joining Power Paper in 2001, Mr. Kahani held management positions for 10 years as at Gilat Satellite Networks (Nasdaq: GILT), a world leader in satellite communications. In his capacity as director of business development, he worked with strategic partners in the USA and Europe, established and managed several joint ventures in China, and was involved in securing financing from several international partners. As controller, he was very involved in Gilat's initial public offering on Nasdaq and several follow-on public offerings. Mr. Kahani holds a B.A. in economics and business administration from Tel Aviv University, where he also completed three years of MBA studies.
